China's social insurance system covers five mandatory programmes: basic old-age pension, basic medical insurance, work injury insurance, unemployment insurance, and maternity insurance. The Social Insurance Law (็คพไผšไฟ้™ฉๆณ•, 2010) serves as the overarching framework, supplemented by State Council regulations for specific insurance branches.
